Question CAN NOT SLAP B STRING!

When I slap my B string on my Jazz Bass It sounds like BLAB! Is it the strings or the setup? Thank you!

The Blab is fairly common~ if you have the chance to play a Dingwall with it's 37" B String~ it rings just like the other strings, and that's no blab.

Slapping with a heavier gauge on is tough, that's about the only way to make your B better though...
