| | | | Can a P- Bass pickup cover fit on a Jaguar Bass? Hello, I have a Squier Jaguar Bass and I wanted to make it look vintage and cool, so I was thinking of adding a J bass bridge cover, a P-Bass Pickup cover and a thumb rest, is it possible to have these things on my Jaguar model ?

Given the placement of the metal piece with the control pots, I don't think you can mount a P-pickup cover on it. I don't think there's room on the G string side.
As far as the J-bass bridge/pickup cover, I suspect that would work, and I really like the look. The dimensions you'll want to check:
1) Width of the cover vs. the bridge.
2) Distance from end of cover to the edge of the body - it might be tight, and you don't want it to hang over.
3) Will the J-cover go up the body far enough to cover the J pickup?
Resolve those issues and you'll have your answer. You can always buy a generic J-cover from Ebay or basspartsresource.com and you won't have much money at risk. Bass Parts Resource: Bass Covers/Ashtrays

| | | | I would say the Jazz Bass bridge cover would probably fit, not sure about the P Bass pup cover and of course the thumb rest could go anywhere. IMO any of that would be would take away from the cool vintage look it already has. Jaguars look great just as they are, especially the crimson red.

I've seen people use the J bass bridge cover on a Jag and it worked fine, so I know I could do that.
The pick up cover is what's killing me.

| | | I know a bridge cover can fit, they even have one on another Squier Jaguar bass, and it looks pretty sweet too.

| | | | I just wish there was a way I could fit the pick up cover. If I can't I'll just put it on my tele bass.

It works for me. Of course, I used a P-Bass cover.

But if you want to try a cover over the P pickup, you might pick up this set from Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-FENDER-J...item45feada803

| | | | @Pilgrim, I believe The J-Bass pickup cover means Jazz, which means it would be less likely to fit because it is longer. I think I'm gonna go with the original plan and if the P-bass pick-up cover doesn't work, I'll just put it on my Tele.

A J cover is likely to; a P cover will not. I don't see any reason that a J cover won't fit - in fact, I just ordered one for my Jag, based on the idea of this thread.
CPA935's Jag bass cover is s J-type; SurferJoe46's cover is a P-type.

| | | | That brings me to another question, if a P Bass pickup cover won't fit on my jag, will it fit on a Japanese Made telebass reissue ?

Here's a look at it just sitting in place....

| | | | Looks nice ! At least I know the bridge cover will work. The pickup cover is my real concern though(I sound like a broken record xD).

It was a quick mockup I did for a thread on another forum to show what a Jazz bridge cover would look like on what was, at the time, the recently-released Squier version of the Jaguar bass; below it is a photo of my Fender Jag bass with the cover on it. Glad to see it inspired someone though!
Pilgrim, why is there no "F" on your cover? Is it not a Fender part?
