Can you put a pickguard on a bass that didn't come with one?

Title says it all, I wanna put a black pickguard on my black Aria STB series.

I dont see why not. Just make sure it fits right, and don't drill through anything important.

So to know where to drill, you can just place the pickguard over and mark the spots?

As long as it fits other wise, that should be all you need do.
