I want to lower the action on my bass more, but the bridge wont let me. Is there a way to fix this and enable me to lower it as intended?

Take it to a reputable repair person before you start "tightening" the truss rod. There are far too many factors that go into setting the "action" of a bass.

Shim the neck, or have a pro do it for you if you don't know how.

This will cure your problem.

If that's the case, you need a neck shim. It'll do wonders for your action. Unless ofcourse, you have a bass that has an adjsutable pitch neck. Then just add a little pitch, re set the string hight, and you're all set.

of course, everyone is assuming that the bass is a bolt-on neck and not a set-neck or a neck-through...

in the case of the latter two...you'll have to get a qualified luthier to find a way to lower your bridge...
