Hey there,
I am installing a de-tuner on my Carvin LB75, anyone use these or recommend one. Using on the E string, can this particular one go lower than a step down?

I would imagine not since it says UP TO one step lower.

I have one on two different basses (one on an LB70), it can go lower than D, but I have not tested the range to find out the limits. Matt Garrison uses one to drop his E down to B as far as I know.

The only issue you might have is room for the lever to operate if you are trying to use it on the E string of a B-G tuned 5er. If you're set up E-C you'll be fine.

My Hipshots go lower than a full step. In fact I've gotten as far as two whole steps but the note lacks definition and the string flops around like a wet noodle. Not very gratifying and not very musical to say the least. You could probably get away with 3 half steps (C#) though.
