Case Lining Repair

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a ~40 yr old case, and the strip of lining along the front edge hs come loose. Any suggestions as to the best adhesive to re-attach it? I don't want to end up damaging the material, or use soemthing that might out-gas and affect my bass (or is that just silly?). Any thoughts are appreciated.

Aside: I obtained this case in 1979, with my Guild Jetstar, but it fits my Hagstrom HIIB nicely too (as shown). I beleive it is the original Guild case (circa '67), but not positive.

THANKS!

There are some aircraft upholstery cements that don't out gas after cure time and they will work very well. Unfortunately you can't find them in anywhere but a specialty store for the trade.

I built a few pylon racers in the 1920s style when I was air racing.

Let me Google a supplier I use and see if they have a facility that stocks that for you. BRB.

I use 581 for things like this, and it's FAA approved. Here's a link.
