Chambered J body questions.

Has anyone here ever tried a chambered bass body from Warmoth and if so, what are your impressions?

I've got an Fender MIM Deluxe Active Jazz 5 string bass and find I'm having a hard time dealing with the weight. I'm having problems with my neck and at 10.5 pounds I'm finding it to be a bit too much. Fact is I had it strapped on for about 20 minutes and my neck feels quite strained from it. My SR505 weighs in at 7.5 pounds and I have no problems with that bass. (It's amazing what a mere 3 pound differance makes!)

Just wondering what effect a chambered body has to the sound and at 25% less weight will there be any neck dive? Can't see any good in having a lighter bass that I have to hold up with my left arm while playing.

Just doing my homework first.

The horn/strap button is in a reasonable place that neck dive ought not be an issue.

That said, you may want to consider a lighter wood species over a chambered body - a chambered body will give you a markedly darker sound than a basswood or swamp ash body will.

. . . my $.02

you'd definitely need lightweight keys, or the bass will be neck-heavy.

fender basses are already kind of at the tipping point as it is.
