Change Monorail to Solid Bridge?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a BTB406QM, and while I'm not unhappy with the Monorail System, that burnished chrome hardware looks awful to me (screams "cheap", it does!).

I'd like to replace all of the hardware on this bass with chrome... Is it possible to change the Monorail bridge out for a solid 6 string bridge (like the ones found at Allparts?)

Anyone ever done this? Would I be looking at a nightmare as far as measurements and intonation? How about string height (I like my action as low as possible).

Please let me know if any of you have done this.

Thanx!!!
