Changing Strings-Do I need to do any adjusting?

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if this should be in Setup or Strings cause it has to do with both, but I figured I'd give it a shot over here. I have a MM Stingray 4 string that I'd like to try with flatwound strings. I'm going to stick with the same gauge but I hear flats have more tension so would that mean I'd have to do any adjustments to make up for it ie: truss rod adjustments or anything of that sort? or can I just slap em on and enjoy the thump? thanks alot guys

If I change to strings with more or less tension then
a previous set; the truss and bridge usually needs adjusting,
and maybe intonation.

It's a low set up.
