Changing strings on your bass.. Accurate, detailed instructions ?..

It's something I've been too embarrassed to ask..
It's the most rudimentary question one could ask,but I never see it addressed in Bass Player mag, or anywhere,really.

What are the exact instructions for changing your bass strings?..

I remember as a kid, just starting acoustic guitar..
You were supposed to get some good "wrap". You go through the hole first ,and wrap it alot around the post alot ,and the "wrap" would sort of push the string down, towards the base of the headstock.

But nobody ever showed me a step-by step diagram,of exactly the most efficient way to put strings on a bass.
I kind of wondered if I was doing it right all these years.
Can somebody show me a link,or explain the basics?..
