Chipped finish-how to fix?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, my SX falls over and the think layer of stuff on the neck gets chipped.

It's about a small, 3/4 inch piece on the neck right next to the fingerboard.

Not that it's a big deal (it's an SX), but I figure it's a great bass to learn how to fix stuff on. Pics later when I find my camera.

Super Glue and accelerator.

Build up layer upon layer, until there is a slight rise above the original finish, then sand smooth and polish the repair.

I use clear nail polish... seems to work fine. Though, in the the older chips, the nail polish has yellowed. Doesn't bother me though.
