I have a 2005/6 CIJ p-bass.
When I got it, new, the volume pot was a little skritchy when it got down to zero/off. Never really bothered me...it wasn't bad. I've had it for a year and there are zero issues with it.
Here comes the bizarre part:
took it to church, got all set up, walked away, came back, picked it up...no sound. Def the bass...plugged another bass in and it worked fine.
Got home, plugged it in and it worked fine. played it all week!
Took it to church and ZERO sound.
Took it home and it works fine.
Took it to a friend's house and it didn't work.
Took it home and it works but it did cut out. Since then it's been working fine.
took off the p-guard to look for something obvious (in no way am i a tech off any sort) and I see nothing. Plug it in and make some noise while moving the wire harness around a bit. I can not get the thing to short out. I figured something was loose and i'd be able to reproduce this cutting out. I was wrong.
