Classic 70s Jazz pickguard query

Sign in to disble this ad
I love my new Classic 70s Jazz (MIM) bass, and want to replace the black guard with a tort; my old MIM standard jazz bass guard was seriously short near the control plate, so I'm thinking I might need either a custom or whatever fellow TBers have used. I see the Fender aftermarket 70s pattern at basspartsresource, and wonder if anyone has tried that successfully; the holes on the upper horn are a little off, one anyway, but I like the idea of the pre-made cover holes, as I intend to install all the chrome. Someone else said the '62 reissue fit, but it really isn't period correct. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The latter has holes for chrome covers.
