If you want to remove even more, you may need 100 or 60 grit sandpaper. Just remove the parts you don't want sanded before you start.

No way I would use any kind of sandpaper or steel wool for cleaning. Polish is as abrasive as I would get.

| | | | Believe it or not, I use the new Pledge Multi-Surface Clean & Dust..........I kid you not! It cleans metal, wood and doesn't mess up the electronics............and it doesn't leave steaks and residue on your finish or on any metal parts. It really cleans the gunk off the strings, too.
I use it on my MM StingRay 5. If I didn't trust it, I wouldn't use it.
So laugh at me if you want, but my bass looks awesome, especially when that center stage flood light hits it and the damn thing lights up like the star that it is!!!!!! |

It is safe on poly and nitro finishes and dissolves gunk like nothing. I like Meguiars Scrarch-X to buff out scratches on the body and bring back shine. Finish with a good paste wax. I have yet to use anything that rivals this formula, but I have seen amazingly similar results from the Virtuoso line on a few nitro finished Les Pauls... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
