Hi all

Hope your well wherever you are.

What's the best cleaner for cleaning the back of an unfinished neck? Got an ATK in desperate need of a clean.

Cheers

I don't have an answer for your question, but your ATK neck is unfinished? I find that odd.

Yeah there's no varnish on the back of it at all. Very nice to play.

+1 ... naptha ... safe on all finishes. Ronsonol lighter fluid is naptha, and cheaper than buying a quart of the stuff at the hardware store.

So lighter fluid for Zippo's?

What about lem oil or a guitar polish?

Don't use a polish to clean something - use a cleaner. Use a polish to polish it.

No finish on the back of the neck? Then I'd recommend wiping it down softly with 0000-grade steel wool. You will be amazed how nice it will make your neck feel. I do it before every gig.

I do this with a small amount of Renaissance wax - hard to find and very pricey ($30 for a small can) but used on valuable antique furniture and in museums and is great stuff. Might have to look in a woodworking store.

Cheers guys

So try lighter fluid or 0000 grade steel wool.

I'll give it a go.
