Cleaning the bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a bridge that is a bit older, and it is covered in dust dirt, and other crap

Is there a certain way I should clean it off, rather, special stuff I should clean it off with?

Thanks

A little dish-soap + water and an old toothbrush then wipe dry. If you can take the bridge off its a bit easier, so that you can clean it at a sink.

Brasso works great for cleaning metal parts and removing tarnish.

You should be able to find it at any hardware store or most grocery stores.

I'd avoid the Dishsoap and water....
Water would make it rust in the long run..
What i like to do is put the entire bridge in a bag/bowl filled with wd-40 or equivalent and leave it there over night.
Just let it soak for a few days.
THEN do take a old toothbrush to it.
Thats what i did to an old Kramer bridge that was rusted solid... good as new in a few days!!

Let's give this one a shot in the Hardware, Setup & Repair forum.
