Sign in to disble this ad
I have just purchased a Vintage 62 Reissue Fender Precision and am wondering what are some recommended products/methods for cleaning a bass with a lacquer finish?

To CLEAN....VM&P Naptha....( Ronson's lighter fluid )....it won't harm the lacquer, and will degunk just about everything. Odorless Mineral Spirits works also, but doesn't evaporate as quickly.

After cleaning, whatever the polish du jour happens to be. I've not found any that are better than any of the others. If the finish is real Nitro lacquer, don't use anything with silicone in it.

Maguier's #6 cleaner polish. The local luthier's swear by it, and Autozone will love you forever.
