Cleaning Necks

I own basses both with maple fretboards and rosewood

2 fenders (1 maple 1 rosewood)

1 stingray (maple)

how do i go about getting the grime off of these boards?

i appreciate your help

You can use a sponge with warm soapy water. Dont soak it just a damp sponge should do. Or if you wanna really do what i do is use a dish cloth with a touch of metho/denatured alcohol on it and rub away...

On ebony & rosewood fingerboards (not unfinished maple), I use Colortone Fretboard Finishing Oil by Stewart-MacDonald. Unlike linseed or other oil finishes that may become sticky, this stuff penetrates the wood and dries hard and won't harm frets or inlays. Check out www.stewmac.com
