Try some standard guitar polish...should do the trick unless the neck is really gritty.

Any kind of light oil or wax works well. A really fine scotchbrite pad will re-smooth the neck also.

Wipe it down to get all the fingerprints off it, then I use the same wax that came with the bass. Fantastic!

yup, just go over it with the scotch brite pad. you shouldn't have to put much effort into it to get it feeling silky smooth again.

+1. A semi-worn Scotchbrite pad and Briwax (www.woodworkers.com) will do the trick. For more agressive treatment, I use Tru-Birch gunstock oil and #0000 steel wool.
