Clear adhesive pickguard for slap scuff?

Sign in to disble this ad
I tend to create a lot of string scuff marks on my basses below the G string playing slap. I should have a new Lakland 55-02 deluxe coming soon (I know, ignore the sig temporarily ) which is nice enought that I'm wondering how to prevent it.

I found this stuff at Stew Mac:

It's made for acoustic guitars. I really like being able to see the wood, and not having to install screws.

Anyone had any experience with this or something like it? I'm hoping it will come off cleanly at some point in the future.

I'd look elsewhere if I was you. If the guitar has a modern catalyzed lacquer finish then you might want to find some of that vinyl "static clinging" stuff. Vinyl can react with nitrocellulose, though, so be careful.

Mylar is polyester and is about as inert as it can be when in contact with other cured finishes. If you want a clear acrylic piece for your lakland, PM me. I've got just the thing

I'd install a ramp if I were you.
