Clear guitar straps -- who makes them?

Sign in to disble this ad
Now that DEVO is using clear guitar straps, I have to have one ...only problem is I have no idea who makes them or where to get them. Anyone have any idea?

Make one out of that plastic stuff they hang down in front of "cooler" doors to keep the cold in!

Dimarzio used to make one that was like a plastic version of a 3 or 4" Levy's leather strap. I haven't seen them in years though. I used to have one, but I lost it on a dark stage somewhere.

Jodi Head might make you one. I wanted a special strap once and struck up a dialog with her. She's very cool and accessible. Good luck!

wow, i just spent about an hour looking all over the internet, and nothing. i did find out they were originally made by earth guitar straps, who apparently got bought out by d'addario years ago. and john, the levy's plastic strap you linked me to has been discontinued...plus it has studs, which i must admit i'm not into.

so unless i hear from the dude i know who works with devo, i guess i'm sol. well john, thanks for your help and let me know if you're able to do anything. at times like this, it makes me wish i was good with tools.

oh well, nice idea while it lasted.

well don't knock yourself out over it, but if you can make one, i will definitely buy it, unless of course it comes with a $100 price tag i prefer 3 to 4 inches thick, btw, since i'm old and have a bum shoulder.

thanks bro!

Levys once had a model M12CV (2 inch - just clear vinyl, no studs or piping or crap).

You can try searching by that model number... there are couple online stores that have them listed, but I don't know if any are legitimate.

thanks, but apparently it's discontinued. it's also too thin for me. my shoulder's too sore for 2" straps.

and john, no way i'd ever let you do something like that for free. one thing to take a nut you had laying around and weren't going to use (btw, thanks again but it didn't work...i tried to glue it back together but it cracked again as soon as i started filing...me and my stupid lack of finesse), another to take a strap you put work into.
