Conditioner question

Hello, I've got some Fender Fretboard conditioner, and I'm wondering which direction I should rub it on the fretboard. Should I start from the head and wipe downward over the frets? or up and down in between the frets?

unless it's a maple fretboard, in which case don't use it at all.

as it is, it doesn't matter which direction you apply it, but don't use it more than once or twice a year. people slather all kinds of crap onto their rosewood boards, most of which does nothing and some of which is harmful.
