Exclamation corvette $$ action..

Sign in to disble this ad
hey..

alright, be known, that i wasn't too lazy to read the manual.. its just that i can't make much sense out of it.. i would love to take the bass to a proper luthier (did i spell that right, i dont think i did).. but there arent' any around over here..
one really can't trust people with their instruments over here.. a friend of mine dropped over a bass to get his action fixed.. the bass was returned to him, with the strings almost a whopping inch from the fretboard.. now that we've established my need to do this on my own.. lets proceed..

how.. and what do i do with my truss rod.. taking into account the double buck, and how warwick has been sticking their basses with truss rods upside down etc.. im way too hesitant to work with the bridge and make those individual string adjusements.. petrified that i might muck something up..
any advice would be appreciated.. even if its a "dont touch it.. and keep playing" comment..

cheers.

Hi,personally I would rather start adjusting the saddles before thinking about the truss rod. The corvette also has an adjustable nut, which you could look at adjusting. Once these area have been explored you may well find the truss doesn't need touching. Hope that helps......

You need to check the truss rod first. The truss rod is the 1st step in any setup because if you dont do it first, it changes all the other tweaks you've already done.

A truss rod can be checked for properness no matter what the other adjments are. Some mfg'ers have the bass setup perfect and then the rod goes out of adj - sot thats all that needs to be fixed. Follow the "setup" sticky thread at the top of this forum and you can do it yourself quite easily
