| Crack in Fender P Bass headstock

Hello my friends, I was installing new replacement bushings for a set of 4 new tuners in my 1970 Fender P Bass. I was using a C Clamp to install them and must have applied too much pressure to the bushing for the low e string hole. Now, it has a small crack beneath the lacquer. How can I safely repair the crack? Should I sand down and flow super glue into the crack, then re-spray some nitro lacquer?
