Custom Bass Accessories/Parts

Sign in to disble this ad
I know one guy who made me a full steel custom pickgaurd for my epiphone thunderbird. He did it in his machine shop you can find him at: pauldo70@hotmail.com
But does anyone know of someone who makes custom one of a kind tuning key/post assemblies, volume/tone knobs, etc... Just any bass guitar parts.

This is the pickgaurd, He also does truss rod covers etc.

He did a beautiful job. I'm surprised he can't fabricate your other parts though.

Im also looking for anyone who does custom work for pick-guards, truss rod covers, and backplates... similar to that. Someone who is more flexible and will make them based on designs i can send in...

ANY machinist cam make knobs. If you know how to use a lathe, that is as simple as drinking coffee...
there is even a tool for knurling, so even that is a "no brainer"

The hardest part would be the trip to the hardware store for a set screw

yeah but im not a machinist... not even close so im looking for someone who is. Someone who i can send the plastic pg, truss covers, or backplates to from any of my basses, along with sketches/concepts of designs that would be engraved or cutout, etc.

wait...maybe I wasn't clear...
I was not trying to tell you to do it yourself. I was trying to point out that any local machinist you can find would probably turn out a couple knobs for you on a Saturday morning, for a few bucks, and a couple beers.
If you find an older guy, who can use an old engine lathe, each can be slightly individual, if that is what you so wish, where a CNC machinist will set up a pattern and all will be the same from then on.
