Custom Clear Pickguard with Jamerson Picture

I'm looking to get a clear pickguard for my 57 Reissue P-Bass. It's got 10 holes, I believe and it came with an anodized gold metallic looking on that doesn't quite look right.

I want a clear acrylic pickguard to show of the majority of the body, but I want a picture of James Jamerson in the bottom left hand corner under the pickup to hide the routing. Then, I'll do a fade into the rest of the clear acrylic and the rest of the real paint.

Kind of like this here. Except it would be with this style of P-Bass.

I bet my Granny's long underwear there's some product you can run thru you ink jet printer and slap it on the back of the guard. Maybe someone can comment.

sure is! the product is called ink jet photo paper

seriously...

you may want to hit it with a coat of clear spray enamel first...

then cut to shape and install...


great idea, by the way...now I know how to get a faux black perloid guard, cheap as chips...

perspex + printer = cheap cool pickguard
