Cutting an anodized pickguard

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm going to put together a fake P-bass and want to use a Fender gold anodized pickguard. Since it'll get a 22-fret Ibanez neck I expect to have to enlongate the neck pocket in the body and trim the pickguard.

I'll use a coping saw with a fine blade and be cutting from the top on the downstroke. Will the finish want to chip/flake off?
