Cutting out

Sign in to disble this ad
I play through a GK 210. Schecter passive bass.
Sometimes at practice the sound on the bass cuts out. (right in the middle of a song)
I fiddle with the cord, sometimes remove it and put it in again and the sound comes back. At first I thought it was the cord, but it has happened with more than one cord.
I notice that my volume for the bass is LOUD. If I turn the volume on the pickups all the way down, the sound is off of course, but when I turn the volume just a small amount the sound is loud and strong.
Any thoughts on what I should look at to sort this out.
thanks for any advice.

Could be a bad solder at one of your volume pots or the pot itself. Input jacks can be another culprit, I sometimes have to bend mine if it isn't making good contact with my 1/4" cable plug.
