D tuners

Does anyone use these? Do they lose tuning more easily like having a tremolo bridge or anything? I was thinking of having one on every string on my bass since I tune up and down fairly often.

You'll have a hard time fitting them on every peg - the Hipshot Xtender Key uses the space between the E peg and the neck to maneuver, and the other pegs prolly won't have the space. But they're very reliable once you get them set up right.

Try Youtube, search for 'Michael Manring'. He is a (not available anymore) Zon signature Hyperbass, with D-tuners installed on all four strings, and uses them (too) often.

I have a d-tuner on all three of my basses, but only on the E-string.

I am very happy with that set-up, and the look on the faces on the guitarts when I use it is just priceless (they don;t know there's a D-tuner for guitar as well.

I emailed the folks at Hipshot a couple of months ago and they let me know that a Bass Xtender would not fit on the E-string of a 5-string Fender Jazz for what that's worth.

I guess this would only really be possible on a 2 + 2 headstock

A Hipshot is quite a bit quicker- & once setup, doesn't need a tuner(not for awhile, anyway).
