Danelectric neck question

Hi, New Dano owner here. A '63 R.I. Model I think it's called
Just a few questions.
It's got a shim in neck pocket & after I got the neck off & adjusted it, it's still buzzing on the top few frets (closest to body).
Should I remove the shim, just adjust the saddles up higher...???

A shim typically is used when the bridge saddles have run out of downward adjustment.
