Help! I had my warwick on its stand. I was playing guitar and got pissed off about something and i slammed my guitar onto its own stand, which sits right next to the warwick's stand.
Today i looked at the warwick and it has a GOOD dent in the wenge neck on the opposite side of the fret dot markers (around where the knuckles slide around).
I've read something about using heat vapor to pull out the wood. How do i do this? Are there any other solutions to the problem? The wood is bare--no finish. Thanks

I then placed it on the dent for 5-10 seconds. I did this 2-3 times, and the dent was gone. I then waxed the area with the Warwick wax, and it was as good as new.

when I tried it the wet cloth melted from the heat and a small ugly burn mark appeared on the wood...
took some sanding and waxing to remove the burn mark but the dents were there still.

Again, speaking from limited experience, if your cloth is melting, it sounds like you are using a cloth with synthetic fibers, like nylon. Try something made of pure cotton, or a paper towel(like on the linked site), and you probably won't have problems with melting.

Thanks | Try it using the tip of a clothes iron so it's not as hot. Use only a cotton cloth. You may have to do it a number of times. Lastly, it doesn't always work. |

| | | | dont wrap it round the soldering iron
place it on the neck then just touch the soldering iron on to it above the dent for 3- 4 seconds.
And yes, use cotton, damp and 4 layers thick |

| | | | And make sure you slack off the tension in the strings just in case you limber up the neck enough to warp. It's a remote chance but could happen. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
