Detuning & Setup

As much as I hate it, it seems that I might have to start tuning my five string down a whole step to properly play some songs for my church choir. My action is fairly low, will dropping a whole step require a new setup?

I would be tuning A D G C F.

I don't know why you'd a new setup, but it would be reasonable to expect that the truss rod would need a tweak.

Before you turn the truss rod, you may try higher gauge strings like 45-130, to get more tension.

Pay $45-$60 a pop to find a set of strings that will work just right so that he doesn't have to adjust the truss rod or adjust the truss rod to begin with using strings he probably likes. Hmmm...

My guitarist and I have to drop tune half a step for half of our set. If I don't retune back to pitch right after the set and let the neck settle, the action goes out of whack enough to be an annoyance.

You were just the one willing to pay the most. That doesn't sound like winning to me.
