Question Did '71 Fender P-Basses have bridge mutes?

As I said, did '71 Fender P-Basses have bridge (cover) mutes?
I've got one lying around, and I'm trying to remember which bass it came from.

There was a mute (a strip of foam) stuck to the inside of the bridge cover.
