Top routing required means that the top of your bass must be routed to accomodate the moving parts of the tremolo. It's a decent sized hole.

The difference between the forward type rollers on the 2400 and the rear rollers on the 2410 series is just that, where the rollers are. The 2410 with the rear rollers were designed for instruments like the P-bass without much room behind the bridge to route into. The 2410 is much more popular on basses from what I can tell.

Yep. Most guitar shops should be able to install a Kahler tremolo. Granted, you do know the bridge alone costs about as much as your bass, correct?

well two things one i know how the bridge costs yes ..... doesnt cost as much as my thank u lol ... just had to mention that but ya its just cause im not toooo machanically inclined so if its easier to instal sure ill do it myself but if there is a chance of ruining the body or something other aspect of this bass id rather not take the chance

Well of course there's the chance of ruining your bass body, you have to route out that hole.

I'd have a shop do it for you, then later in life get a cheapy and do it, make a frakenbass.

The installation of a tremolo on a bass is one of those times where "if you have to ask how, take it to a pro" ... unless you're handy with a router and have plenty of experience with it.

No offense was intended by the "costing as much as your bass comment" ... I've come across many people who expect a Kahler to be $100 after installation like a hardtail bridge would be. Few people realize they're nearly $400 without labor.
