Dimensions of Badass 1, 2, and/or 3 Bridge Plate? Anyone?

Sign in to disble this ad
If you own one of these bridges, would you mind measuring the dimensions of the actual bottom plate for me?

I have a Fender 90's MIM that has the factory bridge installed slightly off center. I am thinking about getting a new bridge and installing it in the proper position but I am hoping to cover the factory screwholes.

Thanks in advance for the measurement, advice, etc

BA II is 3.25" wide by 2.5" long. It is 3/16" from the edge of the bridge to the center of the first mounting hole so you could probably move the bridge about 1/8" side to side and still cover any existing holes completly.

I wouldn't suggest the BA 1 or BA 3 for you application. The BA 1 is narrower (3.125") and taller, the BA 3 is designed as a string thru. I guess if you wanted to though you could make your MIM string thru!!

BTW, I had the same problem with my MIM. I plugged the existing holes and re-drilled still using the stock bridge with no issues.

Hey man, thanks for measuring that.

I am debating on going for a BA 1 or 2 or maybe just getting a hipshot A and moving the saddles over.

What did you plug your holes w/? Can you see them? I am not one who is huge into cosmetics, but - if I can avoid ugly-fying this bass I want to.

I used small pieces of wood dowel that can be purchased at any hardware or craft store in a variety of diameters. Just cut off the correct length, coat with wood glue and stick them in the hole.
