Distance from 12th fret to bridge mounting screws on Fender P-bass?

I checked a couple imitations and got 18" and 18 5/16".

If someone with a real Fender P-bass would check I'd appreciate it.

The scale length is the important thing on the specific bass you're working on and will determine whether the correct bridge placement should be.

I realize that. Both basses I measured are 34" scale, as is the project. I figure Fender has better quality control and would like to know where they put the bridge.

Well, it would be no better than anyone doing a good QA. Anyway, I don't have a pbass, but I do have a jbass here (should be the same) - I measure 18".

Thanks. I also discovered that one of the imitations had about a 1/8" gap between the end of the neck and the neck pocket - don't want it too tight...
