Distortion at Fender MMIV output

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
I just discovered that if I leave the neck pickup 100% and cut the bridge one while I use the active circuit I get a distorted sound when I pluck a little bit heavier.
The battery is 100% charged. I tested the bass with my amp (Ampeg B100R) and with my computer. In both cases I get the same result. Also, both tone controls are about 50%.

I recorded a short clip so you can hear it. This is the MMIV plugged in directly into a M-Audio OmniIO. During the recording the overload led from the OmniIO did not lit. I believe the distortion only comes from the instrument.

I would like to know if this is something normal or if I should send my MMIV for repair.

Thanks!!!
Pierre
