Heat is used to break the glue bond. Palette knives are used during the removal process. Realignment is tricky. Fret work is almost always involved. This is a job only for the seriously handy. If your knowledge of luthiery and woodworking is not in depth, it is a job best left to the pros.

Why do you want to remove the fingerboard?

Actually I am very interested in knowing more about how to build, repair, upgrade the bass.
I like to do all the work by myself

you have have al of th eabov eto contend with as well as when the fingerboard is glued in position,i wll need to be "worked" to level it out accordingly, whether that is a tad bit or alot. dont think for a second you can glue it and walk away to play it the next day.
