I think I need a new bridge. A replacement for my stock Fender Jazz MIM one. I'm thinking about a Gotoh because it's cheap and easy drop in. Tell me if I'm right in thinking I need a new one:
-Current bridge buzzes on the G saddle
-Saddles spread apart
-E screw is stripped
-All strings vibrate when only one is plucked (requires constant muting when playing and tuning)
That last one especially annoys me, but if that supposed to be like that I guess I have to live with it.

What's everyone else's opinion of the Hipshot Vintage? (okay who broke the search function?)

What's everyone else's opinion of the Hipshot Vintage? (okay who broke the search function?) | The 30+ lb. tension of the strings keeps them in place. Believe it or not it's more than enough to hold it in. No problems there.
Hipshot makes great products, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one...
On the other hand, Gotoh makes great bridges as well. The Badass II is a bit more than you might need, and IMO is just as much hype as it is actual advancement. A bit of placebo effect, and yes, I'm a user.

My bass has a Fender-style bridge, and I've noticed that plucking one note/string will cause other strings to vibrate, more so if the other strings are related to the note being played (like if the note is one octave lower/higher than another string). |

I really do think it's because of the bridge. I went ahead and ordred the Hipshot Vintage. I'll see if it improves any. I'm a little concerned about the hipshot not having the middle saddle grooves for the screws to slide in.
