| Do SX truss-rods work the other way around?

Hey Guys,
I bought an SX jazz bass and I'm trying to set it up right.
Normally If your neck has to much relief, you tighten the trussrod to straighten the neck right...
If I tighten the truss rod of my sx the neck has more relief and if I loosen the truss rod it has less relief, but not enough.
Anyone else has this problem?
