do your saddles follow the radius of your board?

so yeah, as the title says. i was wondering if everyone here sets up their saddles in a way that it follows the radius of the board? and how strictly do you follow it? do the saddles look angled or are they straight but just vary in height?

i always set mine up with the saddles stright (if you're looking at it from the fretboard. but recently, i tried out this new luthier here and set up the saddles in such a way that they REALLY follow the radius of the board. made me wodner what other people do.

so, how do you set yours up?

I keep the bottom of my strings the same distance from the fretboard. Because all the strings have different thicknesses, the saddles don't follow a precise curve or anything.

Same as Brian, I try and match my action (bottom of string to fretboard or fret) on all strings, sometimes adding a bit more on a B, and a bit less on a G than the others. The B moves a bit more in addition to being thicker, and the G moves a bit less in addition to being thiner. So ya, it kinda matches the radius, but I adjust acording to action.

I set the height of each string individually so that the action is a low as possible without buzz. There is some arch in my saddles, but I wouldn't say it follows the board exactly.

i agree with the last 3 replies. theyre all the same essentially. low action is what is desired, so there has to be some sort of arc across the saddles. whether it perfectly follows the fingerboard or not is left up to the anal players.

if im reading this correctly, youre asking if each individual saddle is tilted or perfectly horizontal regardless of string to string height? in that case, all of my saddles are perfectly horizontal. tilting them would cause issues with spacing, interference between saddles, and perhaps even an unstable grip on the string. saddles normally have 2 height adjustment screws because mechanically theyre easy and stable to put there. but i BELIEVE theyre meant to be set to the same height so that the saddle is horizontal.
