I'd like to replace the pickguard on my SX, which arrived with a different pickguard color (white instead of black) than that which was pictured, but I know that, unless I can get a replacement pickguard from Rondo (which I don't think is possible), the holes of any pickguard I buy will not line up.
So I'd like to find a J-bass pickguard that doesn't have pre-drilled holes so I can fit it to my bass without having to drill more holes in the bass. Does anyone know of a place that would sell these?

I think:
Chandler Guitar
WD Music

all the best,

p.s. tell him Rodent says Hi (and no, I don't receive any compensation for this plug) |

| | Wanna buy some mandies, Bob? | | Join Date: Nov 2001 Location: Longmont, Colorado | | | Just for clarification, I'm not looking for a custom pickguard nor am I looking to ship mine off to have one made for me. I'm just looking for a place that might sell a black j-bass pickguard that is cut for everything but the screw holes. There may not be such a thing and my only options may be to buy a pre-drilled guard and drill holes in the bass (which I don't want to do) or to spend more money than I'd like on a "custom" guard. In either case, I'll opt to keep what I have and hope that Rondo eventually sells pickguards.
I do appreciate the suggestions, however.

I'm still checking with Rondo to be sure, but if I can't go that route, I'll likely take a look at your suggestion.

I e-mailed him asking if I could buy a black pickguard from him and he has offered to send me one at no charge as a replacement. Didn't mean for him to have to do that, so that REALLY speaks of his service.
Kurt is a great guy, as if you didn't know that already, right?
