Drop tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there are any ibanez style drop tuners that are smaller than hipshots? This is because I highly doubt that a hipshot D tuner won't fit my bass because it is a 5 string and I want to fit it on the E string.
Thanks
Tom

What kind of bridge has your Ibanez, if its indivdual saddle assembleys, Ibanez make a tail one that could replace your E piece.

Contact Hipshot and see if they have one they recommend. I think I read on here a while back that they would make an offset lever that would miss the B tuner.

I have modified standard D-tuners to fit in the E position on 5 strings or 4 strings strung BEAD but I'm not familiar enough with Ibanez to say if it would work.

Check out post #4 in this thread. It gives some details of what had to be done.
Hipshot Bass Xtender: lift instead of drop?

I have monorail 2 bridges on my bass. I have seen some on the internet but don't know where I can buy them.

Ask an Ibanez dealer, I've seen TBers buy Ibanez pickups off of dealers before, that shouldn't be on the market.

Find an authorized Ibanez dealer near you (probably includes just about any music store that sells new guitars/basses). It is my understanding that they can order those, although they may insist that they'll have to do the installation.
