Dual Trussrod Adjustment

I am considering a bass with dual trussrods. Any hints on neck adjustment?

There is a link to a free set-up guide up on the top banner (refresh until you see it) - it covers dual truss rod adjustment.

Dual truss rods are a pain in the behind. The only way I'd get one is if it was on a production bass, 6-string with a wide neck, like a Yamaha John Pattitucci model. If you're going custom, I'd do graphite reinforcement and a dual-action single rod. On the plus side, if you adjust the dual rods right you should be able to get more relief on the bass side and a straighter neck on the treble side.

I've got 3 basses that are dual. My alembic epic (Single action rods) helps get my neck exactly where I want it and the action is nice and low too. My EUB (dual action rods), neck is a bit on the thick side, but will still move it and my headless 5, being a fretless I can get the fingerboard nice and level, so the strings are extremely low. Takes some getting used to on the setup part but IMO, makes a big difference nonetheless. Just don't get them working against each other too much, that seemed to be key.

Love the dual on my Alembic Stanley Deluxe.

Hints on adjustments? Not much is needed for tweaking, and put marks on the ends of the rods so you adjust them equally. Other than that they are really easy to work with.

I tend to initially use a straightedge, adjust flat then adjust individually from there.
