Hey tb-ers hope your bottoms are all suitably fat, yet tight.
had a gig the other night and to cut a long story short (the long, waffley story is here
Catching a tree stump with my toe/Dropping a thumb 6er on my foot/1 Easy step to pain) I managed to drop my thumb 6er on my foot when one of the strap-locks came out.
DON'T WORRY THE BASS WILL BE FINE
... my toe is a little mushed but will make it. Although in a war of Toe vs. Thumb - thumb wins convincingly.
I've used the dunlop countersunk strap-locks on this bass and have done for about a year but the screw which holds the 'socket' (the countersunk) part of the mechanism into the bass had sheared off at the tip of the thread/base of the head, allowing the usually very tightly and snuggley fitted socket to slip out in the cold weather. Now, there shouldn't be anyway a screw could be under enough pressure with a 6 kg/13.5 pound bass on it. is this just a rare case of a bad screw? (rare for me anyway

)
Has anyone else had this happen to the more heard of it?
P.S.
i got the rest of the screw out without damaging the wood.
