E string problem

when tuning i was told to tune the top string (the thickest to E)..my tuner says its tuned..but it seems too loose. what should i do

Tune the octave flageolette. I noticed that a lot of tuners (including "bass tuners") don't accept lower than 50Hz, which is barely a A-string.

my advice is if it interfears with your play get another E-string!

You might consider a heavier gauge E string. Maybe a different brand string that has more tension, or even a taperwound string helps with floppy- loose strings!
