E&A Strings Quiet on Jazz Bass.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I have an SX Jazz bass, and the E&A strings seem quieter than the D&G and sort of muddier. I thought it was the original strings but I switched to LaBella Flats and the problem persisted. I checked the pups and they seem level. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

marco,

Level may not be what you want in this situation.

Try raising the E/A side of the pickup and checking volume as you adjust. If they are quieter that should help.

If the volume is the same, but they are muddier, the E/A side may need to be lowered to improve the definition.
