Hi ive got a epiphone thunderbird and need to loosen the truss rod as the action is too high. Just wanted to find out what size or type of allen key i would need.

Thanks

First off, please read info about doing guitar setups. You don't loosen a truss rod to "correct" high action.

ive read about it tonnes, ive adjusted the bridge, and tried changing the guage of my strings, but it definately seems like the truss rod is kinda bowed out, i can actually see it. But i cant seem to find the correct allen key to use?

If your action is too high, then loosening your truss rod will make it worse. That's not the problem.

u tighten the rod to make the neck straight, the neck naturally bows with the string tension

Well then I suggest you read more. Try this, it's for a fretless bass but the relief and action steps apply to a fretted bass as well:

if it's a bolt on neck, maybe it needs to be shimmed.
