Epoxy applying

Hi everyone!I tried to apply epoxy on my fingerboard,i let it dry for 12 hours and then sand it to level it.It looks awfull now,it is clouded.How can i apply the epoxy evenly on the fretboard?

Yeah multiple layers are a necessity. I don't think I went as far as 12, but I did quite a few. Can't remember an exact number, but that's hardly important. The more layers you apply, the longer it will last.
