Hi, when I took the high spots off this black epoxy conklin board, some places are left looking a bit lighter in colour, I want to return it too it's shiny dark finish, what must I use? Only in a few little places, not the whole board!

When you took off the high spots you probably cut through the epoxy to bare wood which has probably been stained dark and you sanded off the stain. Or Conklin used a black epoxy and you've cut through it to bare wood.

To get a perfect match might be tough to do. I'd possibly sand it very level, then apply a water or alcohol based stain to the whole neck and hope it will sink in to the bare wood and give you an even stain. Then refinish with another coat of epoxy. I'd have to take a close look and decide then. Or take it right down to bare wood and start again.

It might be possible to do a cheap and dirty fix by putting on a solid colour stain on the light spots but it would almost certainly show.
